What’s new matters
The A4 gets its second facelift for our market, after its last update in 2019, which happened to be nipped in the bud due to the BS6 emission norms. The new model gets alterations in the form of a wider, single-frame grille, redesigned headlights with DRLs, reshaped front and rear bumpers and new tail lights as well.
The dealers have stated that the car will be available in two variants: Premium Plus and Technology. The latter is expected to come packed with features like Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen that features Audi cars new MMI system, ambient lighting, all-LED headlights and multi-zone climate control.
Engine and transmissions?
The major change of this new A4 lurks beneath its bonnet. It comes with a punchier 2.0-litre turbo petrol that makes 188bhp and 320Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, with all the power being channeled to the front wheels. No diesel engines will be on offer from hereafter.
The rivalry
The new A4 is bound to take on the likes on the new Volvo S60, Merc’s C-Class, Jaguar’s XE and BMW’s 3-Series. You can expect prices for the car to start at a base price of ₹ 42 lakh (ex-showroom). With the launch of the new A4, Audi is confident that it will lure buyers, while the year will be filled with other Audi model launches as well. Even the new A3 sedan is on the cards, so buckle up for a great 2021 from Audi. Also, grab the latest info on the upcoming cars in India, only at autoX.
